Luke Krafka
In demand as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher, Luke Krafka (BM and MM in Cello Performance at the Boston Conservatory on full scholarship), has toured the world performing and teaching at most of the finest venues in the U.S., Europe and Canada.
After being a top prize winner at the ICMEC International Chamber Music Competition and the Alexander & Buono International Chamber Music Festival, Mr. Krafka became the Founder and Co-Director of the Halcyon Chamber Series, a chamber music series based in Brooklyn, NY that performs both the wide breadth of classical chamber music and commissions and premiers brand new works. While in school, Luke took masterclasses with Colin Carr, Dennis Hopper, Norman Fischer, Aldo Parisot, Ron Leonard, Tim Eddy, Allison Eldridge, and with members of the Lions Gate Trio, Triple Helix Trio, and the Lydian Quartet.
In 2011, Mr. Krafka toured Germany as a member of the Bach Academy, under the baton of Maestro Hellmuth Rilling and in association with the Stuttgart Symphony. In 2012, Mr. Krafka was personally invited by the BANFF Centre of Music to record the newly commissioned blue grass opera, Spirit of the Rockies, with the world famous Kruger Brothers. Recent concerto performances include Dvorak Cello Concerto with The Claflin Hill Symphony, Haydn D Major Cello Concerto with The Boston Chamber Orchestra and Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.2 with the Queens Symphony Orchestra. Additional chamber music performances include Caselmaggiore, Italy, PEI and Halifax Canada, Boston, Philadelphia and New York City.
Mr. Krafka will be performing the Beethoven Triple Concerto with Paul Medd (Violin, Scottish National Symphony) and PeiShuan Lee (Piano) with the Queens Symphony under the baton of Maestro Maurice Peress. Mr. Krafka has studied with Andrew Mark, Mihail Jojatu, Leo Eguchi, Marcy Rosen and Mela Tenenbaum.
